The  hippocampus is the part of  the  brain that form and  stores long term memories professor Thedore  Berger (usa) has  developed a working hippocampal prosthesis.  in 211- in collaboration  with  sam deadlyler  and robert  Hampson at wake  forest baptist medical center in North  carolina usa  it was successfully tested with live rats. The  prosthesis use electrodes to  record both from the input and output  nerve  bunnies of  a damaged hippocampus. The  input  was analyzed  by and  external processor array  and  appropriate responses  were  then generated to stimulate an output  pattern. This  mimicked the way in which a healthy hippocampus  functions in 2013 the prosthesis frank the  artfical human is currently  housed at  at the smithsonian national air and space museum in washington dc usa there he converts  with human  museum goers thriogh  a laser scanned copy  of prof bertolt  myer  own face. was  successfully  tested on primates the breakthrough  oepns up possibility of rapaiing  brains damaged by diseases such as alzheimer's. from called book guinness world records .
