even though he believed to be the son of Akhenten (and raised by Nefertiti although experts believe she wasn't his biological mom) it seems he or more likely his advisers didn't share his parents obsession with monotheism or worshiping a single god. for starters he was given the name Tutankhamun (meaning the living image of aten")at birth to change it to Tutankhamun (honoring Amun the king of the gods.) And whater he or his advisers were responsible a big change did occur: When he came to the throne the old gods who had ben banished by parents were brought back and the Egyptians abandoned the city of AAkhenaten for his good returing the capital to Thebes He restored the holy sites his father had attempted ti destroy and built famous sites like Karnak temple as a result tut became a symbol of change throughout Egypt. Artistic representation of the ruins of the great temple at karnak. from called book national geographic kids.
