wildfire animal rescue

 In November 2018 Jeff Hill to went to check on a friends house it the wood of paradise California  U.S.A. The home was part  of and area  That  day before had  been engulfed by the camp fire the deadliest  and  most destructive wildfire in California history to date. As his got closer to the home he stumbled upon  a stocking  sight. There  was a horse in in the backyard pool. Shivering and struggling it water the house which likely into  the pool to escape the flames was weakened  but after hill helped the animal out of   the water it shook off love on us for  a few minutes as a tank you and walked off assuring us that she  was ok hill and posted on Facebook later animal rescue  workers escorted  the House to safety. The house  was just one of thousands of animals that  were in peril during the two weeks in which the camp fire  ravaged Northern  California burning nearly 154,000 across  (62,300 ha) and 19,000 structures As the fire roared toward homes people were  forced to  quickly evacuate  and had no choice but to leave their pets and farm animals behind sadly some animals perished  in the fire but a manager of displaced animals from potbellied pig to alpacas were  rescued by caring humans  like hill. Eve injured wild animals like bear cubs and fox were they were taken int to rescue  centers where back into  wood rescuing the  animals was one thing but reuniting them with their owners proved to be another challenge while  some humans were able to collect their  pets right away it took months for other to connect with their for legged friends several local animal hospitals and other organizations posted albums of the animals online to help owners identify their missing pet the  hope  that as the residents of paradise  continue to rebuild and recover form camp fire they'll  be able to do so with their beloved animals by their side. from called book national  geographic kids almanac.

marine iguanas

 Male marine iguanas but heads for up to five hours when battling over females. seafaring lizard swishing from side to side  flat tail floating  behind a marine iguana swims through tropical waters and tidal pools These are the only seagoing lizards on the planet.Every few minutes a marine iguana's bulbous rocklike snout shoots above the surface because it needs to  breathe.This creature  swallows a lot of salt water while chomping down on its algae meals. But its body has a way to get rid of  the salt it doesn't need.  A special gland near its eyes collects the salt and when the lizards back on land aaah-chooo! It sneezes out the salty stuff in a burst of tiny flakes.Drifting down like snow the flakes cling to it bumpy head like a funny looking wig. male marine  iguanas on the  Galapagos  islands  foot of a marine iguana accordion  like adapters coming ashore for a rest or a good  meal these lizards use their long sharp  claws to grab on thighs to rocks as they munch seaweed and  scrape algae  off  the  rocks with their sharp teeth.  when food is scarce  for months  marine iguanas.
