back to the future

The 19th century was a time of great discoveries and imagining inventors from james watt to robetert fulton  created new types of engines that used the power  of steam writers such as jules verne and h.c.wells described technologies  that didn't yett  exist but  would. scientists and mathematicians like charles babbage and  ada lovelace  hatched plans for compuerlike  machings  drawing on the visions of these giants a group of artists  today work in what they call the steampunk style combing the past and the future to make sculptures machines costumes and drawing. artist alex holder created  this sculpture  with  gold paint and bits of junk he says it modeled after a 19th chanting  and cleaning  machine and he named  it dalek for  its resemblance to  the  mutants on the british  sciecnce  fiction  tv  series dr  who.
