The giant clam is well maned it's the world biggest bivalve it can grow to weight more than 440 pounds (200 kg). a clam this size need lots of food. Up to 99 parent of its diet  consists  of  food produced by  algae  living in its flesh which make  food by photosynthesis. Without  its algae  the clam world die.like other  mollusks the giant  clams body is made  up mainly of muscle and  organs surrounded by tissue. This tissue  called the mantle . The  mantle  not and organ surrounded by tissue. is called the mantle not only contains the  the organs but also starches  out to form body parts  such as the big colorful lips that stick out  of giant clams shell.
