smashing pumpkins

if you ever doubted the pumpkins really a squash  fruit  the proof is at pumpkin drop a weird ritual that take  place  each year before  the giant pumpkin  weigh off  near canby. orson at 10 am sharp and watched  by a crown of around 4,000 admirers a huge  pumpkin (the 2007 specimen  weighed 1,269 kb/ 575kg) is loaded on to a crane and hoisted 100 (30m) into the air above  and old  vehicle  donated esqcually for the occasion. once in position the pumpkin is  dropping from its great height onto the roof of the unoccupied van crushing it  to pieces. called  ripley believe it or not
