This yellow spotted river turtle in the western Amazonian rain forest is being mobbed by butterflies that have come to drink its tears. In a region where salt is rare the turtles have a plentiful supply of the vital mineral sodium though their diet prompting dozens of butterflies to flutter around the reptiles heads for a fortifying drink if no turtles are around the butterflies will get their are salt fix from animal ruine or sweaty humans.
