Every year more than a million people visit the Anne Frank house in Amsterdam the Netherlands. In a secret part of the house invisible from the street eight Jewish people hid from Adolf Hitler's Nazis for two year before being discovered. One was a high- spirited teenager named Anne Frank. she died in a concentration camp in 1945, but the diary she left behind has become one of the world's most beloved books. The Nazis persecuted Anne's family because of their religion. Sadly, religious intolerance and hated go today some say in more than half the world's countries.As long as persecution continues against any religion the basic freedom of everyone is threatened. Anne's spirit and bravery in the face of unspeakable cruelty remain an inspiration.
