religion

Every year more than a million people visit the Anne Frank house in  Amsterdam the Netherlands. In a secret  part of the house invisible from the street eight Jewish people  hid from Adolf Hitler's Nazis for two year before being discovered. One was a high- spirited teenager  named Anne Frank. she died in  a concentration camp in 1945, but the diary she  left behind  has  become one of the world's most beloved books. The Nazis persecuted Anne's family because of their religion. Sadly, religious  intolerance and hated go today some say in more than half the world's countries. As long as persecution continues against any religion the basic freedom  of everyone  is threatened.  Anne's spirit and  bravery in the face of unspeakable cruelty remain an inspiration. So does her message of hope: "in spite of everything, i still believe that people are  really good at heart." you can visit the Anne Frank house online at annefrank.org to see photographs and take a tour of the Franks hiding place the secret Annex. crowds line up  to visit the Anne Frank house in Amsterdam (right  of the building  withe red shutters ) The Franks lived in secret  rooms on the two top floors.
