Comepetive  Karuta  is a Japanese sport that involves matching  spoken classical pomes to their written cards.Each match lasts about 90minutes with 5 to 7 matches per tournament .  Karuta tournaments are known for being so intense some players lose up to 4 pounds by the end. from a book the world of sports.
