cracking up

edgar  mueller, s  painting are often  the size  of whole  street. The artist creates illusions of depth and movement so convincing That viewers feel if they really  could fall into the gent ice crevasse created at east pier in Dun Longhaire  Irelands  in 2009. The  artist worked with assistants from sunset to sunrise  for five days to 2690 sq ft (250 sq m) or about the same size as a tennis court . lnsect lilusion edger mueller and manfred stader created this vision of a giant  butterfly rising out of a crack in the earth at an arts festival in Saskatchewans Canada from a different angle you can dearly see how the lilsion  is created from painting that is is flat and stretched. This the of art is known as anamrophsis. The image works only when seen from a particular  angle. if you viewed mueller's work from and other direction it would just look like paint on a pavement  the image would  appear distorted and flat. The illusion  of depth requires great precision  and  after using  a digital camera  to carefully  plan the correct  angles  Edgar draws chalk lines on the ground before adding layers of acrylic paint to complete the there dimensional image. from called book Ripley believe it or not
