village of dolls

There are more life size straw dolls than humans it the remote village of Nagoro Japan. There  are only 51 people  in the  village  but 150 dolls each one representing a  resident who  has moved away or died . Created by local women  Mizuki  Ayona  the dolls  dressed in rags and old clothes  appear all over the village on fences at the bus stop and one  in the abandoned school following the death it last student . from  called book Ripley believe it or not
