young Thomas edison was naturally curious. He was always asking questions and liked to experiment Once when he was very small he even sat on some goose eggs to see if they would hatch. As young boy Thomas had trouble sitting still in class so his mother took him out school and taught Tomas herself at home.He was a fast learner who loved looking for answers in books. when Tomas was twelve he started his first job. He sold newspapers food and candy on the train traveled between port Huron and Detroit.By the time he was fifteen he was also selling his own weekly paper that he printed himself. If was full of news about the people who or worked on the train. In 1868 when he twenty-one Edison invented an automatic vote counter for which he received his fist patent. (A patent issued by the Unites State governments gives an inventor the sole right to make sell his or her idea.)Unfortun ately the vote counter turned out to be a failure because on one wanted it. Edison evowed that from that point on he wold invent only tings that people wanted. When he was about thirty Edsion establishments a laboratory in Menlo park a small town in New jersey. Iot was here that he invented the tinfoil phonograph and the electric lightbulb. Edison was granted over a thousand U.S. patents during his life. As he became increasingly famous he was called The Wizard of Menlo park. Edison felt thought that his success was the result of hard work not wizards Genius he one said is one said is one percent inspirtion and ninety- nine percent perspiration.
