water works

what do you when the power  goes off at house dig in
drawers for candles cook supper on  a camp stove in the backyard when  you can't  rely on the kind of energy you're used to using you need creative thinking to get thing s done. about 2,600 year rich people  in ancient  Greece run  short  of slaves to water all the crops so they  began building waterwheels next to rivers. The flow of the rivers turned the wheel which pumped technology for thousands of year. And  then a few hundred years ago  someone  figured out how to use waterwheels  to make fabric.  for as long as anyone could remember people  had make fabric  at home by spinning  materials  like sheep's wool or cotton into thread and weaving that thread into cloth. But at the end of eighteenths century businessmen in England  realized  that they could build factories next to rives the rives could  turn waterwheels  and waterwheels could turn gears and pulleys in the mill that make the spinning and weaving machines run. people  mostly women and children stood by to make sure the machines were running smoothly but the main muscle power come from the river. Cotton mills spun more  cotton than ever before faster  than ever before and  the wold  never be the same again. This was beginning  of the Industrial Revolution  As businessman built new factories people  moved to cities to work  in the factories where they cloud earn steady wage. Factory made  cloth sold well  because  it  was cheaper then handmade  cloth factory owner made plenty  of money and they built more factories. all of those  factories were hungry  for energy  and inventors were happy to  come up with new energy sources. from called book BrilIiant
