mountain mirrors

located in the  shadow of the Gaustatatopen  mountain the norwegian  town of rjukan  never  saw any sunlight  in winter until in 2013 three  183- sq  - ft  (17-sq-m) compute- controlled mirrors  where   placed on top of uneasy  peak to  redirect winter light and keep to the town square bathed in sunlight during the day. some of rjukan's 3'5000 inhabitants gaze up at the sunlight reflected by the mirrors a scheme the ensures town will no longer be totally  without sunlight a year. The three mirrors that perch on top of a 1'300-ft high (400-m) mountain have finally brought winter sunlight to rjukan .
