In now 2017, Ibm announced  that they had developed a working prototype  of a 50-qubit quantum compute, breaking their own record of 7 quits.(A qubit  is  a quantum bi.) To  put  this into  context ,google,s think thank on convention power  has stated that 50 qubit  would  be the point at which  quantum computer could  surpass  conventional supercomputer  capability.conventional computers  store and process information  using  either  I  or 0 but only one of them at a time. However  a quantum computer processor can  use 0,1 or both  simultaneously enabling it store much  more information use less energy and grbieater  processing power. Ibm,s Jeff welser presented  the  quantum computer  in las Vagas Nevada use in jan 2018. The  unit is modestly  sized but requires huge cooling systems to function. In mar 2018, google unveiled  their 72, quit Bristlecone quantum computing  processor. As  of 13 Apr 2018, however this had not been peer reviewed.
